Last month, The Resource Connection, Inc.’s Helene Tum, Senior Staffing Coordinator and Peter Konrad, Director of Operations went out on the ledge — The glass ledge that is . Located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower in Chicago, “The Ledge”, a breathtaking tourist stop, is 1353 feet above the street below. While representing TRC at Staffing World 2017 on October 24 – 26, Helene and Peter attended a “soiree” on the Willis Sky Deck sponsored by Career Builder.
The Staffing World Experience
Organized by the American Staffing Association (ASA), Staffing World is the largest, most comprehensive convention and expo in the staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry. It’s attended by thousands of staffing professionals with exhibits by hundreds of Vendors offering the latest in staffing solutions. The nation’s largest staffing association; ASA is the voice of the industry. ASA also is the leading source for staffing industry news, data, and trends for the media, academics, policy makers, industry professionals, industry suppliers, job seekers, and others interested in the staffing business.
The Expo was an opportunity for Helene and Peter, and TRC, to keep pace with the latest in staffing technology, get familiar with the latest offering from major Job Boards, learn new skills at a wide range of industry related seminars, hear from business thought leaders and subject matter experts, and to make valuable new connections.
Peter said, “Both the seminars and networking events were a great opportunity to hear about and discuss the challenges staffing firms face in today’s job market and develop ideas to address those challenges. And even with a fear of heights, I enjoyed stepping out on the ledge as well!” Helene enjoys seeing new places, and Chicago was no exception. She attended a number of seminars to enhance her recruiting knowledge and skills and earned credits toward her re-certification as a Certified Staffing Professional (CSP). She commented, “I loved meeting people in the industry from across the country. Also, though I didn’t know who they were before hand, I really enjoyed the event finale’s performance by Kool and the Gang!”
