Janet Santa Anna, President/CEO of The Resource Connection, Inc. was proud to serve as the Chair for the 2nd Annual local Ladies Play for P.I.N.K. golf event on Monday, July 26th at Ferncroft Country Club. The tournament benefits the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) .
Ninety-six (96) Ladies participated and with the help of our many sponsors including Institution for Savings, GraVoc, Salem Five, Bullhorn and many others. The event raised $9,300 to help support research to fight Breast Cancer. Karen Jacobs, a Breast Cancer Navigator was our terrific Guest Speaker.
Play for P.I.N.K.
Nationally, Ladies Play for P.I.N.K. is currently funding 19 BCRF research projects, (with collaboration from 26 researchers). And, it is one of BCRF’s largest annual donors. Projects have broad research focus including work on prevention, survivorship, clinical trials, tumor biology, and development of drugs. Furthermore, due to PFP-funded research, significant progress has been made, including:
- Improving therapies for breast and ovarian cancers
- How best to treat aggressive breast cancers, including triple negative and metastatic
- Understanding the biology of male breast cancer
- Advancing how immunotherapy can benefit breast cancer patients
